How does dinner time go at your house? Do you usually know what you’re going to make and have all the ingredients on hand? If not, meal planning will be a big help! The last thing you need as a homeschooling parent is to have to make a decision or get creative during everyone’s crankiest time of day. Once you have time for meal planning in your rhythm, it will save you time and stress, I promise!
Choose a time each week or month when you will plan meals for the week (or month) ahead. Write out dinners - and if you’re never sure what’s for breakfast, lunch, or snack, write those out too. I like to have a rhythm of the week for breakfast and/or lunch to keep things simple and so the children know what to expect. Make a grocery list at the same time.
Write your meal planning day and time into your calendar and if it’s helping to have alarm/notification reminders for your new habits, set that up too! You might also write this into the weekly housework chart that you have posted on your fridge.
