Lavender’s Blue First Grade is a truly unique Waldorf-inspired curriculum.  It’s for parents who want to give their children a beautiful holistic education.  It’s for families who want to focus on the joy of connecting and learning together, without spending all their spare time researching and planning out all the details.

The First Grade curriculum takes an active, creative, and meaningful approach to learning. Families love how learning with the head, heart, and hands is all woven together in carefully planned out and detailed lessons:

*Main lessons in form drawing, math, language arts, and nature are planned out in easy to follow, highly detailed daily plans*It’s a well-organized and full curriculum but you’re warmly supported to adapt and change for your own family*Drawing, painting, beeswax modeling, and form drawing are all planned out for the year and integrated with the main lessons*It’s beautifully designed with full-color pictures

The Lavender’s Blue curriculum is a uniquely strong math program:

*Twelve weeks of main lessons in qualities of numbers and arithmetic*Thoroughly grounded in the best of Waldorf math theory and pedagogy*Original math stories that make learning math engaging, memorable, and fun*Active math and movement are all spelled out so you don’t need to guess what to do

First Grade also includes a full circle!

*Seasonal songs and verses with detailed movement suggestions*Speech, poetry, and active math to coordinate with main lessons*It’s all recorded on audio to make it easy for you to learn and then teach your child (no music reading skills required)

This curriculum is designed to take the burden of researching and planning off your shoulders so you can focus on the magic of first grade at home.

Here’s what some of our Lavender’s Blue mamas had to say:

I have found your first grade curriculum to be a lifesaver...and I have most of the first grade Waldorf curriculums.   Bonnie

I am really loving how you have organized this curriculum. I feel like I understand how to actually do this, which I have not had that experience with any other resource.Sara M.

I would also like to tell you my kids enjoy your curriculum so very much. They were disappointed this weekend when we didn't have circle time and main lessons. That tells me we are on the right track.Jess

I've mentioned before, but yours is the most concise and lovely Waldorf curriculum we've used, and I hope to continue our schooling with you.Apryl C.

I loved that if I had a crazy week, I could literally pull out the lesson the night before and feel confident teaching the next morning. I also really appreciated the form drawing progression laid out for me.Teri P.

Hi Kelly!  I just had to say that we had such a fun day today with the ending of the second letter block. I had my 5th grader make the pictures for the stones and set up the forest thicket and tower with duck pond. We pretended the 5th grader was the fairy of the forest and he led my first grader and his little sister (kindergarten) through the thicket to the tower where the 1st grader matched his beeswax letters to the "stones". It was really sweet and they were all so satisfied with their parts in the whole thing. Thank you for making a lovely and extremely user friendly curriculum. Keep up the good work. Lauren G.

I'm absolutely loving your 1st grade curriculum. The stories, pictures and the organization of it are just all soooo great. I'm on my second time around with first grade, and with your curriculum, everything is going so much better. I would add also that the songs, poems and movement for circle time are invaluable for us- we have so much fun doing them. Not all curriculums include circle time, and it can take a lot of energy and resources to pull all of that together. Your curriculum is a goldmine in so many ways and extremely reasonably priced.Sue N.

I have several 1st grade curriculums - While the costs are comparable, Lavender Blue's version of 1st grade was so much more full and rich - truly everything I needed. She has an amazing curriculum complete with container stories, full monthly circles, audio, pictures and detailed daily rhythm schedules.  I loved it so much I had to purchase her 2nd grade curriculum too!Raysun G.

We are deep into our Waldorf homeschool journey with my 6 year old daughter and 16 month old son. Much home-making goes on but I’d love more direction to add more song, movement, and story into our days. I also need to begin learning the first grade material for next fall!  Thank you so much for all of your beautiful work.
